CVS Haul 10/26Total OOP: $1.29 on Gift Card
ECBs Spent: $31.22

ECBs Earned:$30.98

Cash back because an ECB didn’t print: $5

Here’s the break down:

Transaction 1 (Hubby’s Card – From the Ground Up Transaction)
2 Skittles 3.00
4 Soyjoy 4.00
1 Nova Max Monitor 9.99
1 CVS Vitamin D 2.99
1 Almay Bar .99
1 Condensed Milk 1.79 (I had to throw this up on the register and I’ll explain why in a second)
= $22.76

-4/20
-.99, 2.58, 3.99, and 4 ECB
-$2.00 CVS Vitamin CRT that printed when I went in. The coupon said $1 but rang up $2 (at least I think this is what happened), so I went way into the negative and had to grab the condensed milk).
-2 BOGO Soyjoy coupons
-2.00 Mars Candy coupon (found in Publix flier)
-$1/1 Almay (reduced to .99)

=.15 cents on Gift Card

Earned 9.99, 4.00, and 2.99 in Extra Bucks.

Saved $76.81

Transaction 2 (My Card)

2 Ricola 2.00 ea
1 Airborne 7.00
1 Oscillococcin 9.00
1 Breeze 2 Meter 30.00
1 CVS pocket pack tissues .50

-10/50 CRT
-5.99 in ECBs
-30.00 Breeze 2
-1.50 Oscillococcin
-2.00 Airborne
-1.00 Ricola
=.19 cents on Gift Card Earned 10 ECB Saved $89.44

Transaction 3 (My Card – I did this cause I have been eyeing the playskool toy for a while)

4 Soyjoy 4.00
1 Playskool Diaper pack 10.99
3 Atkins Bars .62 cents ea
1 Playskool bottle 1.59
1 Playskool form fitter toy 7.99
3 Almay Bars .99 ea

-5/30 CRT
-4/20 Playskool Products CRT
-2.00 Playskool diaper coupon (I didn’t think I could combine this with the above coupons, but they didn’t think it was a problem since the CRTs didn’t exclude it).
-2 BOGO Soyjoy
-2 $1/1 Atkins (they reduced)
-3 $1/1 Almay (they reduced)

I was really bad and handed my ECBs last because I didn’t pre-calculate this transaction. I was a bad Thrifty Mama!)
-10.00, 1.98, and 1.69 ECBs

=.95 cents on Gift Card (see how high my total was compared to my other transactions? That’s what poor planning gets ya.) Earned 4 ECB for the soyjoy. The 5 ECB for the Playskool didn’t print, so they just gave me cash. Saved $40.57

Forgive me if my numbers are messed up somewhere. That was a lot to type up!

I found a diabetes booklet in my pharmacy last week that had up to $50 for the moniters just FYI. I used the coupons on that deal and there is up to a $50 rebate on one. HTH, love your blog! :)

Question – why do you want to use your ECB’s first. I was always under the impression that you want to use the ECB’s after all man. q’s so that you use the least amount possible. Plus, wouldn’t you have less to figure out?

If you have several $/$$ coupons, is it ok to split them all up and use one in every transaction?

Hey! I am wondering if there is someone we can donate the Diabetes Monitors to…. noone in my close family is diabetic but I would love to be able to help someone in need! BR/Holly, Did you just ask for the pharmacy booklet from the pharmacist or what?

I just found it with all the pamplets near the BP machine by the pharmacy desk. Look through it before you take off though as I went to grab another one Sunday and there must be newer ones coming out because it wasn’t the same one and didn’t have the moniter coupons in it. HTH!

I also use MFs first, than pay remainder with ECBs. Seems like you says it is the wrong order. Could you please explain why it has to be in different order, any tips will be appreciated. Thank you, I always read your posts and find it very helpful.
