You are probably thinking I’m playing some sort of joke on you, but I’m not. Seriously! You can get phone service for $20 for the entire year! It’s called Magic Jack. I have posted about it in the past, and I think it is an awesome way to save money on your phone bill. My father uses this phone service, and it is just as clear as his regular service used to be. The benefits being that he now pays a fraction of what he used to pay, and has more benefits.
It’s done through your internet, so even if you traveled to another country, you could use your home phone. All you have to do is have access to the internet, and you can call the US and Canada for free from around the world. This really is an incredible deal. To get the equipment for set up, you pay $40 for the first year, and then it’s only 19.95 for subsequent years. Not completely convinced? You’ve got a 30-day free trial to find out if you actually want to use it. Free trial offer has been extended. You can sign up HERE.
Have you used this service? I’d love to hear your feedback on it!

We’ve had it for 6 months and like it. If you leave it plugged in all the time without using it (weeks at a time) you have to unplug it and plug it back in again. Overall, we’re happy!

We have it too. I don’t miss the $80 phone bill at all. You will be without service if you have any internet issues though. We both still keep cell phones.
I highly recommend this.

For those of you have it, do they offer call waiting or caller ID??

Oh, never mind. I see that it does include caller ID, call waiting AND free voicemail.

A friend of mine who tours extensively has this and highly recommends it. Far better than anything else except Skype, I hear.

We’ve had it since November and it definately has its quirks, but it’s worth it to save all that money. BTW, the free trial always says that it ends “today”… it said that all 4 days I looked at it in November, and every time I’ve checked since. I think it’s a marketing ploy.
