We just bought a new home last year (prior to the Tax Credit becoming something that I wouldn’t have to pay back!) and we need to do a lot in our yard. This year we’re building a Recession Garden to help with food costs. We’re also looking at improving upon the landscaping and moving random lillies that have popped up all over the yard! I think the $100 would best be put towards find a soluntion for the small but steep hill on the side of our yard that makes us worry about the lawn mower tipping over (or mowing down a chain link fence which I have been told is impossible but still believe may happen). We’re thinking of either using a ground cover or buying some edging/landscaping stones and filling the area in to creat a flatter surface. Please save us from lawn mower aerobics!

Every summer, we plant vegetables on our small backyard patch. I would use it to try planting other vegetables than usual and perhaps small pots of herbs as well.

Definitely the ring toss and the kids picnic table- our backyard is just full of weeds right now. This would encourage more use of the backyard this summer.

19 Bena May 6, 2009 at 11:37 pm

I emailed my friends about it- hope that counts. I’m not into Twitter yet.

20 Meredith from Merchant Ships May 6, 2009 at 11:40 pm

I would learn to install pavers in sand.

We have an outdoor table beneath a tree, and the grass won’t grow because we use it so often! We’re thinking about a small round patio to make it even nicer to eat outdoors.

21 Rosie May 7, 2009 at 12:36 am

I would use it to let my kids plant whatever garden their hears desired.

22 Mike May 7, 2009 at 1:40 am

I would use the $100 to suprise my Dad who is retired with vegetable plants for his garden that he is not able to put in this year because of recently having surgery and not able to afford it this year. I would use the Home Depot gift certificate to plant a butterfly garden outside my 90 year old mother’s bedroom window for her to enjoy.
