Shopping Superstars – My 87% Savings at Publix

in Shopping Superstars,Shopping Trips

I did go back to Walgreens this week after my first trip earlier.  I’m ashamed to say that I spent way too much money in Walgreens, and have actually contemplated taking EVERYTHING back.  But I probably won’t.

Here’s my other Walgreens trip along with two items from CVS:

005 300x225 Shopping Superstars My 87% Savings at Publix

Total Spent: $17.27  Total Saved: $25.88 (CVS spending was 0.00, and savings was $28.00)

I can usually just shop for free at CVS all the time, so I don’t think I will get sucked into the Walgreens promotions anymore.  They just confuse me, and I’m a hard core couponer!  I can’t imagine what Walgreens must be like for newbies.

But anyway, I made up for this with my trip to Publix this morning:

008 300x173 Shopping Superstars My 87% Savings at Publix

Total Spent: $16.05  Total Saved: $104.65

My Transaction:

15 Back to Nature items 1.39-1.70 each.  $1/1 coupons HERE.

5 Yoplait Fiber One Yogurts $1.25 ea. Used 4 $1/1 coupons from the 7/12 and 8/9 SS inserts or printable HERE & used a B1G1 coupon I had saved from another deal.

1 Luzianne Green Tea $1.15. Used .60/1 coupon from the 6/21 SS insert

5 Starbucks Ice Cream $1.80. Used $2/1 coupons from the 6/21 SS insert (I was only getting it for the overage, HONEST!!  okay, I’ll admit.  Even this organic shopper has a hard time resisting this stuff).

3 Starkist Tuna $1.60. Used $1/1 Printable HERE (enter the sweepstakes) and $1/3 Target coupon HERE

4Coles Garlic bread and cheese sticks $1.40 . Used .50/1 Printable HERE (doubled) Not healthy but nice to store in the freezer for special occasions.

2 Beggin Strips $1.74. Used $1.50 printable HERE.

1 Organic Milk $4.99

1 Kozy Shack Pudding $1.45 Used .35/1 coupon doubled (Nothing Goes to Waist Booklet)

Bananas and Apples Used $1/1 and .50/1 Target coupons HERE

Also used Rite Aid $5/25 Competitor coupon HERE.

YTD Spending: $1,317.70 ($38.76 weekly average, over 34 weeks)

YTD Savings: $4,726 (78%)

Coupon Costs: $103

Ok, I love all that Back to Nature! Fantastic couponing!

As for Walgreens, forget it. I can only go when the deal is beyond super or else it never works out right. Plus our prices in SoCal are much higher then most other states.

I agree with the walgreens shopping. It seems I can only go in for 1 deal if I do multiple coupons or deals the discount isn’t the same. CVS here never seems to stock enough deals, they are always out.

I agree about Walgreens too! Way back when when they had the hair dryer on sale with a $10 RR I bought the travel one (per the ad) was suppose to get the RRs and I didn’t. After complaining to the manager and others in the store and calling the district office they didn’t do anything. Its too frustrating. They coupon policy and RR policy isn’t clear. I only have 1 Walgreens in my area right now. I do so much better at CVS.

You really didn’t do too bad at Wags. I got 4 tubs of wipes and 2 Pampers dipes for $18. That’s really too much for dipes if you ask me. It’s just so hard to shell out money there when you can get it free at CVS. And now that the Easysaver is gone, I only get a GC if I transfer a prescription or am given one. Now it’s actually my MONEY I am spending there. So I definitely prefer CVS, but I am “banned” from shopping there until I have the baby. My DH is afraid I may go into labor while shopping! (I drive 10-15 minutes to my closest one, but worth it).

Great shopping, Crystal! Publix just *has* to be the most coupon friendly store! Love it!

The *only* time recently when Walgreens was worth the hassle, was in March, when we had those $3 off and $5 off coupons for Huggies. They ran a deal where you got a $10RR for a $25 Huggies purchase before coupons! THAT was worth the hassle…even I did it a few times! I know some folks scored dozens of packs!!!

I’m insanely jealous you have a Publix. They seem to take anything and everything and they double too?!? I’m green with envy over here.

I agree with you about Walgreens. It can be total brain-torture sometimes navigating through all of it. I SO wish we had a CVS or a Publix in our area, I even emailed CVS once and begged them to come to our area LOL. Thanks for the post! :)

I too am jealous of all the Publix shoppers! They seem very coupon friendly and it seems they mark organic stuff down! I will say though, I love Shaws/Osco lately with all the catalina deals. So I guess I can’t complain! ;) Good job!

Awesome deals!!! I may have to use some of your Publix scenario! I did Walgreens for the promo and made money, but I always get aggrivated and spend a lot more OOP than I ever do at CVS…probably spend at Wags what I do at CVS in 2 months or more!!

I just wanted to let you know that last week I think a few of my giveaways posted on this linky and it was a complete accident. There were two linkys listed and I scrolled down too far. I have to apologize and hope that the NO GIVEAWAY comment wasn’t because of me. Again, I completely apologize and was only trying to submit my CVS and Walgreens deals here and my giveaways on your Sunday Sweeps… just got messed up somehow.

Crystal, does your Publix not accept Whole Foods as a competitor? I was able to use the printable stacked with the Back to Nature Whole Foods coupon from the booklet. Made for yummy overage! :D

BrandyK – the Publix I went to doesn’t have a Whole Foods nearby. I would have to travel 25 minutes to Whole Foods to get some more of the BTN coupons, AND then go to a Publix nearby to use the coupons. I decided it was a cheap enough deal to do it with just the MFR coupons and shop at the Publix two minutes from my house. :)

Ok.. something is wrong. I came by here just to see if you had responded to my apology (sorry again), and there is a post that looks like I wrote it .. but I didn’t! It is definitely spam! If you hover over my name it gives you a link to some weight loss website or something. I definitely did not do that!

Maybe I’m just totally blind but I cannot find the back to nature coupon anywhere on that link you provided – any direction to where I could print it at would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks :)

Thanks Felicia! BTW, I responded to you on the other post , but I’ll say it here. It’s fine! Mistakes happen. I’ve just had A LOT of people leaving giveaway links the past several weeks, so you are not being singled out. Thanks for letting me know about the spam!! :)

Sorry.. just now getting around to checking about that spam comment… I am so glad you were able to remove it. It is crazy what some people will do just to get their website link on your page. And it is kind of scary that they would actually steal another person’s words, and name and attach their website to it.
