If you’re wanting to start introducing Apple Cider Vinegar into your diet, but don’t know where to begin, here are a few simple recipes. Now you have no excuses!
Straight up - Adding 2 tbsp to a cup of water and drinking this concoction 2-3 times daily is one classic way of getting a generous daily dose of ACV. It may take some time to get used to the taste. You can also try adding a tsp of honey to add some sweetness.
Juicing with ACV – Apple Cider Vinegar goes best with juicing recipes that contain a healthy portion of orange or grapefruit juice – It’s sweetness and acidity takes some of the sour edge off. Try this juicing recipe:
- Juice 1 orange or grapefruit, along with 1 carrot, ½ of a small beet, 1 tsp fresh ginge. Add 2 tbsp ACV, stir. Enjoy!
Apple Cider Vinaigrette- So much healthier than many store-bought dressings, this is a very easy way to add more ACV to your diet.
- ¼ Cup Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
- ¼ cup white wine vinegar
- 1 TBSP mustard (Dijon works best)
- 2 TBSP honey (local if possible)
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- Dash of salt & pepper
Combine all ingredients and whisk until well blended. Can also blend in blender.
Skin Toner Recipe - Naturally restore your pH balance and smooth out your complexion.
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup ACV
Combine water and ACV. After your washing your face, apple ACV solution to entire face (being careful to avoid your eyes) using a cotton ball. Store in glass jar with lid.
Hair Boosting Rinse - Restore some shine to your hair, and get rid of chemical buildup from other products.
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup ACV
- A couple drops of the essential oil of your choice (optional, but helps with the scent).
Combine ingredients. Shampoo & rinse hair. Pour concoction (or even better, spray) in to hair. Massage into your roots. Let it sit in your hair for 3 or so minutes, then rinse well with water. No need for conditioner.
