I know that a lot of you come to my site for the great online deals and coupon matches that you can find here, but lately I have felt compelled to use my blog platform to make a difference in people’s health. I am by no means an expert on health and wellness, but I do work very hard at making sure my family his healthy while we save money.
I’ve been at the books and doing research for several months now, so that I can bring you all a series on healthy and natural living. I’ve contacted several Naturopathic experts, Doctors and companies so that I can bring you all something that I hope will change your life for the better. Financially speaking, it’s not always easy to eat and live healthy. One of the reasons I blog is so I can help people understand that you CAN eat healthy, and save money.
I’ve been experimenting recently with bulk food purchasing, and have been adding in just a few purchases ever week. This keeps my budget in check, and ensures that I am not overwhelmed by making too many changes. So starting this week, I will be doing a series on Healthy Eating, Natural Remedies, Fitness and anything else that will motivate my readers to start living healthier. This will all be done in baby steps, so that #1 you are not overwhelmed, and #2 you will be more motivated to try. And if you get behind in the baby steps, don’t stress! Babies fall down all the time when starting to walk, but what else is it that they do? They get back up and keep taking those little steps. Take your time, and hopefully we can all start eating healthier and living well.
I’m really excited to be doing this series, and if you have any input or a guest post idea that you would like shared with my readers during this series, please don’t hesitate to email me. If you are a company that would like to offer my readers a giveaway during this series, I would be more than willing to speak with you. And last, but most certainly not least, if you are a reader and have certain questions or topics you would like discussed, let me know here in the comment section!
Baby Steps to a Healthier Lifestyle is not meant to diagnose or treat illnesses of any kind. It is merely a series of personal opinions and facts based upon the author’s research, and is for entertainment and educational purposes only. This is wonderful, Crystal! I’ve been blogging about this stuff too. I look forward to your new series.
Hey…thanks for doing what all you do for us readers.
In this series I am interested in learning more about how you can be a vegetarian and healthy and save money too. Thanks!
Excited that you’ll be adding this. I would love to see info on how to afford organic food. Where’s the best place to look for cheap organic produce, meats, cereal? Also would love to see more info on using a grain mill to make whole grain flour and use that in healthy foods.
Crystal, I am definitely looking forward to this series! I’ve been so overwhelmed by all of the possibilities of things I could do to have my family eat more healthfully that I just don’t know where to begin. “Baby steps” is a great phrase to keep in mind.
I’m going to love it – thanks!
Looking forward to this.

This is great! Thanks so much!
Crystal,
I’m so glad that you are doing this! I’ve already learned quite a bit from following you these past few years and I’m anxious to learn even more. You are truly inspiring when it comes to eating healthy and that’s a big reason I’ve always loved your site.
Congrats on the new series!

Perhaps you could add in feature on probiotics?
Guuuurl,
I applaud your efforts in reaching out to help others. I can personally say, couponing has clouded my judgment. I am quick to buy junk for my kids that I normally wouldn’t buy simple because “you can’t beat that price”. We started eating alot of frozen pizzas, quick meals, etc.
My hubs went through nine months of cancer treatment a year ago. We changed our way of thinking then, after hearing so many cases of cancer popping up in the lives of young families (hubs was 37 when diagnosed). We slowly grew back into our lazy ways and eating more convenient foods. I truly, truly, truly believe cancer and other problems are on the rise because we have gotten away from what our grandparents did on a daily basis. I firmly believe environmental factors play a HUGE part.
We had a scare last week, but luckily, cancer did NOT rear it’s ugly head again in our lives. But, it sure has kicked my butt back into over drive as far as eating raw, healthy, whole and organic foods.
It is much more expensive to eat healthy and nourishing foods, but I can say from personal experience that it is worth it. Pay now or perhaps pay later in pain and medical bills. I would rather give up eating out, seeing movies, pedicures, etc and focus my funds and energy on feeding my family nourishing foods to give them the best chance to live healthy lives.
I’ve also started buying in bulk, replacing plastics and eating more raw and wholesome foods. I’m excited and anxious for this new project of yours! Best of luck and, as always, thank you so much for all you do and for all you put into your site. Smooches!!
I’m really looking forward to this! If you could “call out” any healthy products you find I would appreciate the info… I’m so tired of scanning labels to find food without harmful additives and one can’t always cook everything from scratch. Thanks!
awesome, I can’t wait. My biggest challenges are eating healthy without breaking the bank, and getting my kids to eat healthy. I’m also just getting into gardening and sprouting, so I always love reading about that.
Great new series! I just found out I’m pregnant with #2 and I had gestational diabetes with the first so I’m looking for lots of healthy foods to keep myself extra healthy this pregnancy!
