How do you grind flaxseed? I would love to add flax to our smoothies. Anyone do this?

You can use a coffee grinder, but you should probably have a separate one for your coffee because of the oil from the flaxseeds.

I just use a little coffee grinder which I reserve just for flaxseed and herbs.

I love adding flaxseed to everything from smoothies to baked goods to hot cereal. It’s a good way to get those Omega-3s!

Do you have to grind flaxseeds or can you use them whole? I have recently become a vegetarian and am trying to add more healthy things to my diet. . . Thanks!!

It’s recommended that you grind them so that the body can absorb them easier.
