Organic Valley and Hershey’s contacted me about a new campaign they are running, and I am very happy to support this.  Over the next few weeks kids are going to be bombarded with candy temptation.  Some of them will even go door to door begging for it. While it can be a fun and cute holiday, it also becomes a VERY unhealthy holiday.  As long as your children are not lactose intolerant, now should be a time that you increase their milk intake.  And what better way than CHOCOLATE MILK!  Yes, I said chocolate!  Chocolate has great anti-oxidants, and mixed with milk becomes a delicious nutritional treat.  One of the ways I help keep my kids healthy is by making sure that they have good nutrition.

Here’s the science behind the magic: After a workout muscles are exhausted, and the high number of carbs and protein help revive them. When consumed within one hour after exercise, chocolate milk also helps replenish the fluids lost through sweat. This “recovery by chocolate milk” theory established that chocolate milk is almost twice as effective as one commercial sports drink, and as effective as another. Plus, it provides nutrients sports drinks do not.

Not only is the Trick or Treat Me campaign offering us awesome coupons (an incentive to drink more milk right there!), but they are also offering a cute little picture game to help support the environment!  You upload your picture onto a little monster and email it to your friends. For every one you send, Tetra Pak will donate .10 cents to the World Wildlife Fund!!! It’s fun, and an easy way for all of us to help the environment! Check out some more information on the Organic Valley and Hershey’s Trick or Treat Me Campaign, and print out some awesome coupons HERE.

That’s a pretty cool idea. We don’t get very many little goblins at our house so this may be doable. I usually like to make a little goodie bag for each kid, so this would be a good addition.
