cloth napkin unpaper towel tutorial 300x199 Natural and Thrifty in 365: #222 Cloth Napkins

Cloth napkins are a simple way to reduce waste and save money.  In our home we use cloth napkins for dinner napkins, paper towels and even tissue.  They wash with your regular laundry for no extra cost of cleaning.  We don’t fold ours either.  We just place them in a neat pile ready for the next meal, spill or runny nose.

You can find used napkins at resale shops or you could make your own.

I can’t tell you how many people are surprised when I pull out cloth napkins. You’d think I had just morphed into June Cleaver! Paper napkins are such a waste…my kids wipe their face once and throw it away.

However…their one fast food treat is Chick Fil A french fries and for some reason they always put a massive handful of paper napkins in the bag. We save them for lunch boxes because my oldest and youngest are day dreamers and have thrown away cloth napkins with their banana peels numerous times. Over it!
