Mangos are my favorite. Thanks for reminding me that I have peaches to eat!

My kids like anything dried. They call it “fruit candy.” I even dehydrated a bunch of peaches I canned last summer (we just hadn’t liked the flavor of the syrup I’d made with honey) and the kids are now going through those as quickly as the dehydrator can dry them.

I got a dehydrator for Christmas and I haven’t used it yet. Thanks for the info, I’m gonna use it real soon!

Judy, you can make so many cool things in the dehydrator! Flax wraps, dried fruit, beef jerky, granola, raw bread…it’s a really fun kitchen gadget!

What’s the shelf life on dehydrated fruit?

Reply

Nicole, the shelf life will vary depending on the moisture left in the fruit and the temperature at which it is stored. I’ve read that dehydrated fruit will last 6 months in your pantry and 1-2 years in the fridge.

What is a good brand or model of dehydrator? I would love to invest in one. Thanks!
