If you are decorating a new living space or simply updating your home, this tip could be what you’ve been looking for to add a personal touch to your efforts. Transform your walls from blah to beautiful by creating personalized DIY fabric wall art. It’s an inexpensive way to fill up a large space without having to dole out loads of cash on framed art or another piece of furniture.
Great for accenting a nursery or completing a new theme for any room in your house. You could also cut out letters and use this idea to put some of your defining words or family names on the walls.
The original source claims that the fabric simply peels away when you want a new look. Have you tried this type of wall application before?

I have decorated my walls with fabric designs and silhouettes for years. However, I just mix 1 part liquid fabric softener and 1 part water, dip the fabric into the mixture and carefully squeeze out the excess and then apply to wall and straighten out any air bubbles. We recently did this as a project while my husband was deployed for 7 months. We hung a design for every day we thought he’d be gone. (The kids helped me starch them onto the wall.) Then every day the children “peeled” off one of the designs. To make it easy, we did a design per month. So for October we made pumpkins, November was leaves, December was birthday cupcakes, January was snowmen…. We made as many “cut-outs” as were days in that month. Since we are military, this idea has been great for decorating base housing. When we move there is nothing to re-paint and or clean-up. When we get to the next house, we just make up a new batch of the liquid starch and water, dip, squeeze and apply. It goes on just as easy time after time. In fact the previously used designs that were starched before are easier to apply. Happy decorating!
