Your old stuff might have outlived its welcome in your home but you can almost always find someone else who would love to take it off your hands. Reduce the burden on solid waste facilities by selling or giving away your belongings.
There are many options that might be right for your situation. Sell your items locally and list for free on Craigslist. For a fee, you can advertise items on eBay to a large market of buyers. Organize a yard sale with your friends to help everyone reduce their clutter. Freecycle helps facilitate donations between individuals. Choose a local charity that will resell your stuff and you could receive a tax deduction.
Look around your home to see what needs to live somewhere else.
