Two doors and a piece of crown molding create a fantastic headboard that provides function and simple beauty. The headboard is painted along with the end tables to create a unified look. This could be recreated with new or recycled pieces for a truly thrifty room remodel.

I think a Habitat for Humanity ReStore (http://www.habitat.org/restores/default.aspx) would probably have doors that could be used. You could even use one door cut in half since it wouldn’t have to go the whole way to the floor when the bed was in front of it.
