So I thought I would take this opportunity to give you all an update on how my fitness is doing. I’ve been working out with the Wii Fit since the last week of July, and so far I’ve dropped two pant sizes, a bust size and have lost……… wait for it………Nothing in Weight! Egad! Right, so, I’ve actually gained weight. Everyone tries to butter me up and tell me it’s just muscle I’m building, but that doesn’t ease the pain of not seeing that scale drop. But seeing as I have dropped two pant sizes, I’m pretty happy.
This is a picture of my Wii Fit graph, that shows my progress over the last three months. The dots show where my weight has fluctuated.
Previous Stats: Current Stats:
BMI: 25.31 (Overweight) 25.71 (Overweight)
Weight: 151 154
Wii Fit Age: 31 28
Real Age: 27 27
So despite the working out, I’ve not lost any weight with my Wii Fit. Oh, by the way, my husband has been working out on it (less than I have, too) and has lost 10 Pounds! I must say I’m proud of him, but wish my weight was dropping, too. But on the plus size (har har), my center of balance is dramatically improved, I feel better and more fit, I’m toner and more lean, I have more energy and I’ve dropped two pant sizes!
I received my Wii Fit Plus in the mail yesterday (ordered it on Amazon), and I am really excited about it. I did it yesterday and already feel like it’s going to make a difference, because I can combine the workouts I want to do. It makes it easy and seamless to go from one workout to the next without a break. Whereas with the regular Wii Fit, there was too much downtime picking the different workouts and waiting for them to load.

I used to exercise a lot! But now I just don’t feel like it: running after two toddlers and doing all home chores does the trick…

I started working out in January with weights and cardio and dropped 2 pant sizes too…and no weight! But let me tell you, we have been sick for four weeks straight so I haven’t been to the gym in over a month now. I have since dropeed 3 pounds and I can tell that my pants are getting tighter and my muscles are getting looser…SO!…I think I’ll take the 3 extra pounds and the tighter buttocks and tummy area
Oh and I try to at least go up and down the stairs with weight (the baby) a few times a day and do some walking lunges while going around the house picking things up…sometimes it even makes me feel like I AM exercising
I’ve been wearing a pedometer and challenging myself to get more steps every day.
I usually chase after the small and sometimes wild 2 year old son and believe it or not I tend to get a lil sweaty from time to time!!!
The forums yeah psshhh all over them!!

I make sure to get a walk in first thing, right after I drop off my oldest daughter for school. I have more energy in the morning and tend to skip the walk entirely if I put it off for later in the day.
Became a fan of Yoplait on Facebook!!!

I’ve been doing Bikram Yoga. It’s a really tough workout!
I have cut out soda for the last month. I also try to take all three kids on a walk everyday after work.

I do the dance class at the gym and found a boot camp class that burns 800-900 calories in one hour!
Honestly, I’m not doing much more than just drinking more water. It’s a baby step, but an important one. Already I feel better about myself and find I’m eating less because I feel fuller from the water. Thanks for the giveaway!
I’m pretty good about getting to the gym and running in the mornings. But my new rule is that I can’t veg out in front of the tv until 8 pm. That keeps me up on my feet getting some more step in for the day AND it helps me get to things on my monster to-do list!
I finally started going to the gym on a regular basis again this Monday after over 3 years of really not exercising much. In those 3 years, I’ve had two kids, but now I have no excuse. My youngest daughter will turn one in a month and I want to lose 10 lbs by then. I know it sounds like a lot, but in the past, working out has helped my lose weight quickly when paired with eating right. I just hope it works this time too, especially because I turn 30 next Friday and don’t want to be a big mommy anymore! Thanks for the giveaway!
I have a question How much weight does the board hold? ty melissa

well I have been jogging and trying to eat right. My friend and I are doing a 5k schedule, not that I’m running a 5k, but it’s a GREAT way to get into jogging or running because it ramps you up.
I have to be on a regiment for my fibromyalgia. Yoga is actually excellent for it! But any exercise is great to reduce my pain/headaches. I have about 20lbs I want to drop as well. I can’t wait to get a wii fit someday! I am saving up my amazon swag cards!!
I’m also “mellynne79″ on the forum!
Hello TTM,
We’re getting a Wii system for our family Christmas present and my part was going to be the Wii Fit…, is the plus software better all by itself, or are you using both the original and plus software to get the most from your workouts? Thanks!

The Thrifty Mama here: The Wii Fit Plus has everything the regular Wii Fit had plus more. I would NOT go with the regular, as the new one is by far superior. With the old one it took me forever to go from work out to work out and this wasted a lot of time. With the new one I can set up a routine- and just go from one work out to the next seamlessly.
I would love to win… I’ve been doing Wii Fit, but I also just ordered The Shred, so hopefully that will help as well!
The only thing I don’t like about the Wii Fit is my little character. I hate that she balloons out every time I get on
Although it should motivate me to work out more, it just makes me sad.

I’ve been working out 5 to 6 days a week at Curves since early June. Haven’t seen any weight loss, but am feeling much much better.
I’ve been working out with Jillian in the 30day shred. oww!
I’m on the forums as peacheys3.
Who cares what that scale says if the pants are smaller! (I know somehow that just doesn’t work in our minds
)
I took up running in April. Have never run a day in my life. When I started I couldn’t even run down one side of the block…and last Friday I ran my first 5k in 33 min!!!
Just goes to show, you set your mind to something it will happen!
Walking in the mornings and chasing kids through the day.

Oh, and you’ve probably just gained weight because muscle is heavier than fat.
we just bought a wii, and you’ve encouraged me to get a wii fit, yay! i hope it helps!

I’m my grandkids day care provider so after a healthy breakfast which includes Yoplait we go for a walk. If the weather doesn’t cooperate we dance to Barney, Mickey, and Sesame Street.
Here’s another reason Americans are fatter than Europeans. American cities, in general, are less walking-friendly than European cities. Distances, lack of sidewalks, and traffic make it harder to find good walking areas.

I’m currently pregnant so I’m just walking a lot for exercise. I will get back into some aerobics and weight lifting after the baby is born. I hope to get a Wii in the future also.
I’m using the wiifitplus and I try not to eat after 5 pm

Im biking 2 miles EVERY day !!!!!!
I do pilates, I actually have it memorized and don’t have to watch the dvd (not sure if that’s good or bad!) I also do hand weights and a few different leg exercises. I still have 20lb to go to get to prepregnancy weight but am stuck on the last 20lb!!argghh!
I try to stay moving as much a possible. I’ve even starting walking in place while I’m cooking dinner. Any extra little things I can do to burn some of the extra calories.
I just got a Wii and the Wii Fit and plan on starting that. I just had a baby 6 months ago, so I feel more than ready to start dropping this extra baby weight!

I became a fan of Yoplait.. I started at the end of August really watching what I eat and gave up pops. My 7 year old wanted me to get healty that what she wanted for Christmas. Since then I have dropped 20lbs and have been working very hard at it. I am going to purchase the Wii Fit Plus this weekend and am very excited after reading comments about it. I am a single mother of two and really dont have the extra time to go to the gym so this will allow me to get the extra exercise I need!
I want to share with you a great website that I am using to help me with my weight loss. http://www.fitday.com is a free website to help you eat healthy and reach a weight loss goal. You enter your weight, height, activity level, and you get an estimate of how many calories you burn each day. You can set a weight loss goal and the site calculates the calorie restriction (eat less than burn) you need to stick to each day to meet your goal. Each day you can go in and enter the foods you eat and the activities you do and it calculates calories eaten and burned. In addition, you get a nutrition profile based on all the foods you’ve eaten each day. I think this is very important. You can also log your weight, moods, etc. It may not work for everyone, but the food journal is working great for me!
The database on fitday.com is quite limited so if you need info on foods not listed there, I recommend http://www.nutritiondata.com. It is a fabulous resource whether you are trying to lose weight or not.
I started with our Wii fit and Love it! Just have to get back to it after a, um, minor break!
Yes, that’s what we are being told at my new nutrition class(not “diet”).If you are really burning fat, you may not lose alot of weight but will go down in sizes. The great thing is, you are active. I am not there yet. I have lost 14.2 pounds in 3 weeks. I am hoping when I lose I can start moving. I have health issues. One step at a time, right!? Be blessed!
I don’t know what kind of a diet you are eating but removing processed foods and sticking to whole foods such as eggs, meat, veggies, fruits & cheese is very healthy.
Being that you dropped 2 pants sizes, I’d definitely say that it’s muscle that you’re putting on. There’s no other option. Keep up the good work.
I do exercise every 2 days.

My diabetes was out of control and my sugars were horrible. I rededicated myself to getting those numbers down, eating more complex, healthier cards and sttering clear of quickly digested ones, cut out the fat and use leaner cuts of meat; even throw in more fish and more meatless meals. Portion control was my biggest issue. So…a new technique was important. A friend told me to try this. After every bite, put your fork down. Take a second between bites. Sounds silly but that added time it takes to eat helps your brain get the tummy signals that you are FULL and so you don’t keep eating. You realize your aren’t hungry any more. It honestly works. Both my teen daughter and I find we don’t eat as much, and are just as satisfied with less. Combine that with healthier meals, more veggies in each meal and I’ve gone from 248 to 192.5. Took me a long time but it didn’t pack on in months either. Put the fork down. After every bite. Try it. It really does work!
Oh I am definitely a fan of Yoplait. Their Light Thick and Creamy Key Lime Pie is my lifesaver. Just the right amount of calories, proteins and carbs to help start my day off and I can add it to my meals if it isn’t enough. When I eat this I think I’m eating the filling right out of a Key Lime Pie. Tastes like even the graham cracker crust taste is there. Yum!
Playing tennis with my hubby!
I found a hobby with my husband playing tennis or squash, we really enjoy it and is not too much effort to keep us active. Something that I do to keep my weight is not eating at night, just a small snack, I think that is very important.
Well I really don’t workout, what i do do is always take the stairs up and down at work. It’s sad that i don’t workout, i’m a nurse and should really be an example for my patients. I’ve been inspired by your wii stories that my hubby and i are considering getting one for christmas. Thanks for your site i love it, its great.
Because your weight fluctuates so much from day to day, I wonder if your body isn’t just holding onto a lot of water. Do you eat a lot of salt, or salty things?
My tip for you…would be to look away when you are on the weighing part of the wii fit and keep at it!
2 pants sizes is awesome!!! You may want to mix it up a little too.
If you have exercise tv or video on demand they have so many great free videos to try.
I’ve recently added the 30 day shred to my routine and have wrote about it a couple times on my blog. It’s tough but definitely a good workout!

Work has been crazy busy lately, but it should be slowing down starting next week. So I hope to have more time to go to the gym and go for walks.
We have a Wii, actually have had it for 2 years now. I have never once played a game on it….bad hand eye coordination. But, this whole wii fit thing has me thinking…
I walk my 7th grader to school 3 days a week and get a good two-fer of exercise and quality time with my kid!
Hi! I used to walk around my neighborhood on trash nights looking for extra coupon inserts in the recycling bins. Now I’ve started jogging in between houses! Just those little extra sprints are helping! I’ve also signed up for yoga, so would be really excited to win this. Thanks so much!
I joined a gym about a month ago and am working with a personal trainer. I have lost 10lbs so far. I also do the yoga and body sculpting class they offer.
I joined Stroller Strides and did a 5k training program when my little guy was 6 weeks old. When money got tight I decided to keep it up on my own or with friends. At first I gained weight but I lost inches. I’ve been pondering doing Wii Fit, it is good to know it works.
Hi, I started a group at work in February of this year. We have gone three rounds and are competing against each other for the most weight loss (as a percentage of our total weight to even it out among women and men). I started a work out routine and watch what I eat. I think the biggest impact was giving up sodas. I really like my Yoga workouts and just walking around the neighborhood.
I just joined the Yoplait facebook page! We go through so much of this with the kids that I am honestly surprised that we weren’t already fans!
I just joined your forum as SunshineGirl. I love your blog and all the information you send out! Keep up the good work!
Love your site! I am a 45 yr old mother of a 5 yr old. Out of necessity, I have started hitting the gym 3 days a week (ok, I try to go 3 times, but probably go 2). I’ve also started riding my bike when possible and I also use my Wii Fit.
I enjoy going for walks and biking around our neighborhood. I am trying to get back into working out full-time but just haven’t had the motivation. I love your blog!
I bought myself a yoga dvd several weeks ago-have started doing yoga for exercise and relaxation
I quit weighing a long time ago! I know I am doing well when my “skinny” jeans fit! It sounds like you are on the right track! Muscle weighs more than fat and the more muscle you have the more efficiently you will burn calories whether exercising or not! Hang in there! If you restrict calories, you will probably start losing before long! Thanks for the giveaway.
