Small Cover 1 Giveaway: If Its Not Food, Dont Eat It! Books

Kelly Hayford (author) sent me a copy of each of her books If It’s Not Food, Don’t Eat It! and No Nonsense Nutrition in Bite-Sized Portions.  Both books are very well written, and if you want to increase your knowledge on healthy eating , I highly recommend them.  Here’s  a short excerpt from If It’s Not Food, Don’t Eat It:

As a result of the regular consumption of low-quality nutrient-deficient food, our nation has recently entered in the beginning stages of a major health crisis; a health crisis of such magnitude that it has the potential to change life in America as we know it. This poor eating syndrome is the most insidious kind of weapon of mass destruction because, aside from the obvious diet-related conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity, few people realize that it is the root cause of all chronic dis-ease. I use the term dis-ease as it encompasses not only established diseases, but any symptoms or conditions people experience that cause their bodies or minds to become ill at ease.  pg 8

I truly believe that the majority of sicknesses and diseases we deal with today are caused by our diets.  Reading Kelly’s book was a breath of fresh air, in that it speaks volumes of healthful truth!  The books are also very simple and easy to read, which makes my life easier!  If you’re wanting to live a healthier life, and learn more about food in the process, I think Kelly’s books are a great place to start.

I actually was going to leave a comment on this post about the first quote and how true she is! But then I realized this was a giveaway, and figured id enter since I was going to comment anyway :)
I LOVE her concept & the truth behind everything she mentions. It is CRAZY how much junk and processed foods we consume.
I was diagnosed with RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis) at 24. It was emotional and confusing for me, as I tried to sort through the things in life I NEEDED to change and make different.
I switched to all natural cosmetics, skin care & more… My eating habits are completely different now, as I only eat Organic & non processed foods. My body has done a complete 180 as far as energy levels and Joint pain. Its obvious to me now, my RA was my bodies way of telling me I need to eat healthy and stop depriving myself of healthy nutrients.
I feel my RA is more of a blessing because I can recognize now that I HAVE to eat healthy or I pay the consequences. Im ok with that. As long as I stay healthy & have energy. As my family benefits as well because we only have healthy foods at home.
Anyway… now Im rambling. Thanks again for this giveaway/blog post. :)
