Indian gooseberries, or amla, are famous for their ability to condition the hair.  Fresh juice from gooseberries can be applied directly to hair for a shinier, healthier appearance.  Dried amla powder can be used mixed with coconut oil to treat dandruff and other scalp ailments.  Many women also swear by their use of gooseberries for its ability to stop hair loss and premature gray hair.
