That’s not so thrifty for me :( My kids have defective enamel and we’ve been told no gummis, fruit snacks, or roll ups. Anything remotely sticky is off limits.

I heard of a trick. We live where it can get up to 110 degrees in the summer and one friend puts the fruit on trays in her car on the dash. Dries the fruit rollups out and does not worry about flies. I am going to try it this year!
