It’s frustrating when you are getting ready for your night out on the town, and find that your favorite necklace is way too tarnished. If only you had some jewelry cleaner right? Well more than likely you have the ingredients on hand that you need in order to make your own homemade jewelry cleaner.

Homemade Jewelry Cleaner

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Mix together baking soda and lemon to make a paste. It will fizz a little and then settle down.
  2. Buff your tarnished jewelry with the paste using a cloth.
  3. Rinse and dry your jewelry.

You can use this to polish all that tarnished silver sitting in your cabinet, too. Note: Do not leave jewelry and silver sitting for more than 20 minutes in the paste, as the lemon is acidic. This paste is meant to be buffed on and then wiped off. You can also use water instead of lemon, if you are in a crunch and don’t have lemon on hand. However, the effects will not be as good.

Now that was easy and green!
