If you’re into natural and homemade beauty products like I am, there’s really not much that beats a homemade facial and body scrub. Giving myself this facial scrub makes me feel pampered, and it does a great job of buffing away dead skin and leaving me feeling refreshed.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 1/4 cup light olive oil or coconut oil
  • 1 cup sea salt, raw turbinado or granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp citrus zest (lemon or orange works best)

Blend the ingredients together and gently buff skin.  The honey naturally draws water into the skin and the salt/sugar buffs away the dead skin cells.

A tip for all of theses scrubs :) If you use apricot seed kernel oil it never goes bad. It is very moisturizing and you can keep it until you run out and it has a good smell <3

how do you store this, in a glass pot or jar? I’m guessing here but it probably doesn’t need refrigerated.? My daughters LOVE scrubs. They would love even more to be able to make them and give them to their friends for a Christmas in july party…
lol here’s to planning ahead. Lisa

I made a sugar, salt, honey, vanilla & olive oil scrub today… I don’t even bother with measurements and just make enough for the week… it’s my go-to home scrub, very moisturizing… leaves my skin glowing!

This post is a Godsend, literally. I have been wondering over the past two weeks how I can make my own exfoliant for my face. I really need it but the cosmetics section turns me off, with all the chemicals. I will definitely be trying this recipe this week!

I use jojoba oil, tea tree oil and honey as a daily wash. I’d put sugar in for a good scrub.

I use a simple combo of apple cider vinegar, water and baking soda for my regular cleanser & then a recipe very similar to this one for my face scrub… both keep my face in better shape than anything my dermatologist has prescribed.

Liz,

what is your recipe? I’d like to try this out too. I love the no-poo method of taking care of my hair. I need something for my skin now.

Yes most definitely. You could use regular sugar if you wanted to though.
