It worked for me, yay! I was just wondering how long you should wait to cancel the membership, and how you do that.

Thank you! I just did this deal, and it worked like a charm. I chose the “delivery every 6 months” option so that I can make an informed decision about canceling once I receive the product. :)

Isn’t the deal buy one get one free? How can you get one free without buying anything? Is this an error on Amazon’s part?

Got it! Thanks. Don’t know anything about these snacks, but this is a good trial. If you happen to be an Amazon Prime member (as I am) you get free shipping without having to deal with the hassle of subscribing then canceling. Hooray!!

I read on WantNot’s blog that this is occurring because of a coupon glitch. The true offer should be buy one/get one free. I feel like using this coupon code without buying anything is somehow taking advantage of Amazon and/or the company selling these products. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Thanks Thrifty Mama! For some reason this deal made me think of your recent post about not posting CVS coupons. (which was an AWESOME post mama!) :)

(and btw, I’m not intending to start another philosophical discussion on couponing… just stating my thoughts) :)

Thanks for listening!

LOL, thanks MSM. There are so many fine lines when it comes to deal hunting aren’t there? Seems like I face a new line every day I blog..:sigh: but I try my best to post only ethical deal hunting/couponing.
For everyone else, I just wanted to say that I don’t suggest doing subscribe and save unless you actually intend on subscribing to it. This is something I have been thinking and praying on today. Please use your best judgment everyone.

Thanks you so much. I too was confused with the subscribing part. You subscribe to Amazon Prime Free for one month…can cancel with no penalty.

I went to email it to a friend and it reads – “Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available.”

Both this and the Blueberry/Vanilla read like this.

Bummer…looks like this deal was too good to be true. They cancelled my order saying it was a faulty code.

Reply

Carolyn February 7, 2009 at 11:53 am

Same here. I got an email cancelling my order. :( Oh, well!

Lady Di February 7, 2009 at 3:57 pm

Here’s what I received just today and it’s sounds suspect. They went as far as removing the ENTIRE order out of my history to never be retrieved again. SUSPECT. If anyone ordered the other flavor which was smaller in size and cheaper, did your order get canceled as well? True sign if they say yes that this was a no pay-up for the play-up scenario:

Greetings from Amazon.com.

We regret to inform you that an error caused an incorrect promotional code to be displayed on our website. We are not offering this promotion at this time.

In accordance with our posted policies on pricing, we are unable to offer the item(s) you ordered for the incorrectly posted promotional price. Therefore, we have cancelled the item(s) from your order.

At any given time, despite our best efforts, a small number of the millions of items on our site may be mispriced. We do, however,
verify prices as part of our shipping procedures. If we discover than an item’s correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at
our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation. This policy is posted in the Help section and is accessible through numerous other areas of our website.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We value your business and hope that you will give us a chance to
serve you again in the future.

I received the same e-mail as Lady Di and also think it’s a bit fishy. I wonder if they balked when more people used the code than anticipated. I also dislike that the message came from a no-reply mailbox, so I can’t even respond to it. Definitely doesn’t give the impression that they truly value my business.

Lady Di February 7, 2009 at 10:04 pm

I think you can leave comments under the products as I have done so in the past CC. I’m not planning to for this though. I could not find how to cancel the membership to Amazon Prime, so I selected to not upgrade once Feb 28th rolled around and I removed my cc info. too.

Reply

Jane February 8, 2009 at 3:02 pm

CC – They don’t value your business, if by business you mean getting something for nothing. The website makes it clear that it was meant as a BOGO offer. The promo was apparently inputted incorrectly. You were never meant to get free squares.

Reply

CC February 9, 2009 at 5:16 am

Jane, I was referring to the line in the form letter from Amazon that states “We value your business…” I also just checked and they cancelled my entire order, not just the item in question, without notifying me. In fact, it’s completely vanished, as if I had never placed an order.
Lady Di, thanks for the info. I will check and see.

Lady Di February 9, 2009 at 5:23 am

And I thank you CC for the added words to confirm my suspicion. Let’s hope we continue to have great shopping experiences no matter.
