Making Infant PJs from Adult Turtle Necks
I made this set tonight from a Women’s large Christmas turtle neck. It is so cute! It’s hard to tell from the pic, but it has trees, candy canes and other fun images on it. I can’t remember if I picked this turtle neck up for free at a yard sale or if I paid .50 cents for it. Either way, it’s a great deal! The top is just a dress sleeper (you could just make a shirt), and I made the pants from the sleeves of the turtle neck. Sleepers just don’t keep babies warm, from what I have noticed, so the pants were a must!

Did you know I have been sewing for less than a year? Give it a shot! I got my sewing machine for FREE on freecycle last spring, and have been having fun ever since.

Here are some links that might help you out in making a set:

Best thing to do for the top is just lay one of your child’s shirts in the center of the turtle neck, and then cut the shape leaving a half inch to an inch for seam allowance. That should give you a good sizing for your child. Have fun!
