If you use store-bought baby food, put those old jars to use instead of just throwing them away. You can use them for dry herbs and spices, and these will stay fresher longer being in glass jars.

I can’t remember how many times I went to use a spice, and it was all clumpy from moisture making it in through the plastic (I live in a very humid climate). But by repurposing baby food jars, I’m saving myself from throwing away both rank spices and jars.

The possibilities for using these small jars are endless. You can use them to hold sewing notions, crafts, homemade beauty products and more! What are some of your ideas?

When I was a baby, my dad used to use them in his work shop to sort out his nails & screws. He would nail the lid to a piece of wood. Hang the board upside down, then all he had to do was twist the jar back to the lid! I also used the Enfamil bottles to store my baking powder.

I have used them to store a single serving size of dry rice. That way I can just dump the rice in a pot and then use the jar to measure out the water. Perfect proportions every time.

I make homebrewed kahlua and use the jars to make gift sized nips. I ModPodge them with pretty material and add a cute lable around the top with a ribbon.

I used baby food jars for bridal shower favors once. I made my own bath crystals, filled the jars and topped them w/ fabric and ribbon. I attached a tag w/ directions to the ribbon – they were a huge hit!

I use them to freeze homemade pesto and small portions of chicken or beef broth. I am loving using glass jars instead of plastic containers.
