has anyone tried this? I feel like it would create waste…. when I use a bowl, I can clean it out with a rubber spatula to get all the batter, but I feel like alot would be left unusable in the ketchup bottle, right?

Can you make enough mix for 2-3 days and keep it stored in the bottle. That would be a good use for me. If i had to put it in the bottle every time just to squeeze it out seem like alot of mess and trouble unless you were doing it special for kids or something like that.

This would probably work well for funnel cake batter, too!

Screw the cap off and use a funnel to pour the batter into the bottle. Then re place the cap…

What about the chemicals in the plastic, though? I thought it wasn’t safe to re-use plastic bottles.

Carol – what about those big ketchup bottles that are at Sam’s and Costco?

I have a family of 5 and I will be doing this. I always have ketchup bottles so maybe collect 2 or 3 and full them all?

I thought about the plastic too, but it has to be a food safe plastic bottle since it had the ketchup in it. I am going to do this for camping and for a weeks worth of pancakes before school. My son loves them and this way I can make him two or three quickly in the morning and send him out the door! Thanks for the tip.

It would be great for making & storing batter overnight. And I was thinking about the big bottles, too, since I cook pancakes in large batches & freeze.

Does anyone know how far ahead you could make it? An hour, a day, a week?

I think you can do a couple of days.
