Promote a natural habitat by feeding your local birds. Birds not only keep the bug population in check, but they also transport pollen and seeds to help the ecosystem. Make a bird feeder out of old wood, or find an inexpensive one at your local thrift shop. And if you are up for it, you can have birdhouses and a birdbath, too!

Feeding the birds helps your local environment, and gives you something to enjoy watching. Check out some great backyard inspiration for feeding the birds in a thrifty way here. Do you have any tips for promoting a local bird habitat?
