marathon runners Personal and Blogging Goals for 2011

It’s been an exciting year of many successes and also some things that didn’t go so well.   I strongly believe in setting goals throughout the year, but the New Year is a great time to look ahead and make some plans.

Personal Goals

I have three main personal goals this year.  First, I would like to pull out my sewing machine and set aside time for craftiness.  I’ve been so busy with my site this year, so I have really missed letting my crafty side out.  Second, I plan to focus more time on my family, and get back into a schedule again.  The holidays were insane, and blogging really took a lot of my time.

And here comes my third goal for the year.  One of my goals last year was to become fit and healthier (what’s new right?). Many of you did the 30 Day Shred with me a few months ago, and we attained that goal together!  While I didn’t lose twenty pounds like I had hoped, I dropped to a size 8 and I have become a lean, mean, shredding machine!  Er, well….at least I am more fit and feeling great!

This year I’m taking things to the next level.   I’ve been mulling this idea over for the past month, and I have decided to go for it.  This year my goal is to run a marathon.   When I look back on my life at the end, I’d like to think that I lived to honor the Lord and that I continued to step out of my comfort zone to live life to the fullest.   I can’t wait to run across the finish line at a marathon and be proud at how far I’ve come with my fitness.

Now I just need decide which marathon to choose and the best way to train.  I would love any input from my readers!   And I’d also like to know if you are interested in keeping up with my progress on a regular basis.

Blogging Goals

I just have four simple blogging goals this year:

1. Work on and grow my other site WomanFuze.com, and decide what exactly the purpose of the site will be.

2. Grow Savvy Blogging and Savvy Blogging Summit, while working with some incredible people!

3. Begin a new weekly feature on my site called “Natural and Thrifty” as soon as I can.   This is something I have been planning for almost six months now and it is time to get it off the ground.   I wish I could share more, but I need to keep it hush, hush until I launch. More to come!

4. Remove some features on my site that just aren’t working, while starting some new things and fine-tuning what works.  I’ve not always been great about fine-tuning things.  This is one of my big faults.   I’m one of those people that is chock full of ideas, but it’s hard for me to focus my efforts, because I have so much going on in my head.   Hopefully this year, I can narrow things down to what works and what doesn’t.  You know those people in your life with artsy personalities?  That’s me!

And as always, my long-term goal is to continually help people and encourage them to live more natural and thrifty.  Here’s to a great 2011 together, and let’s hope it’s a good one!  What are some of your goals for this year?
