And the Deal Finding Gets Harder…

in Deals

Recently I posted about some  QVC and Amazon deals, and both of these deals have been canceled.  I can understand why Amazon canceled their deal (an error with the code), but I cannot understand why QVC has backed out on their promotion.  I think QVC has been very shady in their practices, and they will not be receiving any further “free”  publicity from me.  If they say they are going to offer new customers $10 for sign-up, and $10 for referring friends, then they need to stand by it.  As of yesterday they have closed most, if not everyone’s new accounts, and have canceled any orders that were placed with their $10 credit promotion.

I am very sorry to you, my readers.  I try very hard to find great deals for you all, and I hate it when you end up dissapointed.  I encourage all of you to contact QVC, and let them know what you think of their bait and switch techniques.  You can call their Customer Service Department at 1-888-345-5788.  I would also suggest reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

Again, I’m very sorry, and I hope your are not discouraged when it comes to deal hunting.

I still appreciate all your deals, even the ones that fall through :)

What SCarter said. I think your readers know that most of the deals you post will work out, but some may not. It’s not your fault some companies do bad business. At least you give us the chance for a good deal!

I appreciate your posting and it is out of your control if it doesn’t work out. If anything these companies should appologize to you and show appreciate for advertising them. Keep up the good work. I have benefited greatly from your site in general.

No apologies need as I was just coming here to let you know that my Amazon order was closed down. I, personally, think they got overwhelmed with the barrage of orders for both flavors/sizes of their offer and found a “corporate” excuse to get out of the offer. Sorry, but that’s how I feel and I stand by it. You can best believe my Amazon Prime is getting canceled TODAY!!

I say this in all my replies and I repeat it again… THANK YOU for all the hard work you do to bring ALL deals forward. I applaud you!!

I agree with Lady Di…Amazon found an excuse. I don’t buy it.

As far as QVC, in the words of my five year old, “That’s not fair!” I’m grateful that this past week I received my orders (only about 16 bucks OOP for 4 shirts and a pair of tigers eye earrings). However, I’m greatly disappointed in QVC’s backing out.

Thanks for all the hard work you do to bring us these great deals! You are “totally awesome!” (Again, quoting my five year old…lol)

I can completely relate, Crystal! There was another great deal on Amazon I posted and they canceled all orders with no explanation. It was through a third party, though. (I’ve placed countless orders with Amazon with no problems so they are still on my good list so far.)

Same thing happened with Sears this last week. Said they didn’t have the stock when it was in-stock when I bought it.

I never had issues with deals before until that Omaha Steaks cancellation a few months back (remember that one?)

Hang in there. We just have to do our best and hope that the companies follow through! But eventually, I’m with you…no free advertising!

That’s not your fault! I hope you don’t get too down because of their bad business practices. I got my Amazon order canceled yesterday but my QVC order arrived on Friday. I ordered a clearance Halloween item..maybe mine went through because they just wanted to get rid of it. :)

QVC is known for never having sales (they think that their lowest price should be the first “introductory” price and then it should go up from there. They also never have any coupon codes or special deals.

I was so suprised to read about the $10 promotion that was going on. It just seemed so out of character for them. I figured that they might be changing their tune because of the economy.

I’m not suprised that they are backing out, but they should live up to their word!
