I take down the decorations new years day but keep the tree up with the lights on until January 7th when I take the tree to be recycled!

I always gather trees from the curbside pickup and use them as shelter for the birds in my yard near the feeding area. I am fortunate to have a wooded area to put them in when they are no longer needed in the Spring.
