I’m trying something a little new this year and experimenting with how well I can do with groceries by shopping at Costco. I’m not doing as much grocery store couponing anymore, because I just ended up bringing home a lot of junk. To eat healthier I’ve been trying out different options, one of which is shopping at Costco Wholesale Club. This month’s bulk shopping trip consisted of the following:

• Baby Wipes 900 ct. (not pictured – .01 cent per wipe after $4 Costco coupon)
• Organic Spinach
• Organic Spring Mix Salad
• Organic Carrots
• Multigrain Chips (used $2 Costco coupon)
• Dark Chocolate Pomegranates
• Bolthouse Farms Cappuccinos
• Organic Carrot Juice
• Hummus
• Vinegar
• Mayo (used $2 Costco coupon)
• Organic Strawberry Preserves
• Pineapple
• Clear Care Contact Solution
• Kashi TLC Granola Bars
• Organic Flax Pumpkin Granola (used $2.50 Costco coupon)
• All Natural Chicken Sausage Spinach and Feta
• Organic Butter

Last month’s bulk shopping at Costco lasted me well into February.  In fact, I actually hit Costco before I needed to because I’m heading on a road trip next week (hence all the drinks and snacks).  Total spent: $142.61.  Check out the Costco Organic Price List for the deals (I’ll be adding more to the list this week).

After adding in the milk we bought from a local farmer this past week (five gallons), total spent so far for March is: $172.61 or roughly $43 per week if this only lasts us four weeks.  We shouldn’t need to make any other purchases this month unless we run out of milk.  I still have plenty of meat, bread and veggies in my freezer along with wheat, pasta and quinoa still stockpiled.

Oh and I also got my free bag of organic, fair-trade coffee this week from Liga Masiva and must admit that it is wonderful coffee!
