100 2600 300x225 Stamp Out Hunger May 9th

You probably received a reminder in your mailbox today, but just in case you didn’t I wanted to make sure you all knew about it. Tomorrow is Stamp Out Hunger day, and you can place your non-perishable food items by your mailbox to be donated to needy families. Place items in a bag next to your mailbox, and your mail carrier will pick them up to be taken to a local food bank.

This is a great way to help others and clean out your pantry in the process.  So stop what you are doing right now and go fill a bag with some items to put by your mailbox.  Of course, if you are at work right now, get off of my website and get back to work!!  (hehe) And then fill a bag when you get home later.

I’ve gotten a few bags together, too. At first, I was worried that someone (not the postman) might take the bags for themselves. But then I realized that I’m trying to serve others, and if someone were so desperate to steal bags of groceries from my driveway, they are welcome to the food. It’s such a blessing to be able to help others through my thrifty spending!

I got mine together but I thought we had to leave it in the mailbox. Is this what ur donating? I would donate more if I don’t have to fit it in the mailbox. They gave me one bag what do you think?

That’s just a picture of some things in my pantry. You can put the items next to your mailbox. They don’t have to fit in it.

I’m just going to bring my stuff to the Post Office. I have a giant box of food I’m donating, and I didn’t want my poor mailman having to deal with it. I checked with my postgirl and they said they would be glad to take it at the office.

I got 2 bags together. I would have had more but I just donated 2 boxes recently. I agree, I feel lucky couponing has given me the opportunity to be able to help others too!

Mary – It can be any bag, and I think they mainly want food items.
