Many of my long-term readers know that I love humidifiers. They are great to have around during the cold months, when the air inside gets dried out. If someone in our family gets sick with a cold or the flu, one of the first things I do is turn on the humidifier. It just helps everyone breathe better!
That’s why when Vicks offered to do a giveaway of their new Starry Night Cool Mist Humidifier, I immediately agreed to it! This new humidifier by Vicks is your basic, run of the mill humidifier, except that it also has a really cool built in projector that lights up your ceiling with stars and a moon. It also changes color. Here’s a video of my kids first checking it out:
It’s kind of educational, isn’t it? I really like the smaller, sleeker design of this humidifier, vs. the Vicks humidifiers I have owned in the past. However, I do not like that this one comes with filters that have to be replaced. I’ve never been a fan of the replaceable filters in humidifiers, because they tend to get moldy if forgotten. And the cost for replacing them isn’t appealing, either.
However, this is a very fun humidifier for the kids, and I have to admit that I like the calming ambiance it creates. Thankfully, the projector can be turned off and on separately while leaving the humidifier on. The Starry Night Humidifier also does a great job of adding in moisture to the air. Within minutes of this being on, my husband commented that he could breathe so much better.
