I just reserved my Tinkerbell movie. You don’t get the gift card immediately. You get the gift card with the Tinkerbell movie when you pay for it in full (on or after 9/21). Then the gift card won’t work until 6 hours after you pick it up. (Or at least that’s what the CS manager told me.) But that doesn’t matter because you won’t be using it until days later when you go to pick up the Beauty and the Beast movie. It’ll work then.

Where does it say that $10 will automatically come off if you buy Tinkerbell in the same transaction as reserving Beauty and the Beast? I couldn’t find that anywhere in the ad? Thanks for the help!

It’s on the reserve form at the store. I saw it when I was just in the other day. :)

Thanks for answering my question and for all the help! Your blog has really helped me out a lot! Thanks again!

I think you will need a small filler item when buying Tinker Bell and reserving Beauty and the Beast if you want to use the $5 Toys R Us coupon because on the Beauty and the Beast paper it says only a $5 deposit.

Can you get the Beauty and the Beast coupon without having an old VHS or DVD?

Reply

Erin September 20, 2010 at 4:36 pm

Elissa- Just search “Beauty and the Beast UPC code”. That’s what I did.

Will the $5 off $25 work in the 2nd transaction since it will only be $19.99 after the $10 automatically comes off? Or do you need to buy something else?

Crystal September 20, 2010 at 4:50 pm

$5 for Beauty and the Beast + $19.99 for Tinkerbell makes it $24.99. They should let you do it since it is over $25 before the discount and you are above $25 after tax.

I wish I had read this earlier. It’s too late to reserve now.

I don’t know how they did it or what they did, but they wouldn’t let me use the $5 off $25 coupon. I ended up paying $10.80 today for buying Tinkerbell and reserving Beauty and the Beast.

I think I see my mistake. I didn’t reserve the combo pack of Beauty and the Beast. Whoops.

Courtney September 21, 2010 at 4:02 pm

Nope, I did reserve the right copy, but I only paid $5 to reserve it. My receipt shows a $10 off select item (I’m assuming from reserving Beauty and the Beast) and shows my balance on Tinkerbell of 9.99 (29.99- 10.00 deposit- 10.00 off select item) and a reservation fee of $5 for Beauty and the Beast. But there’s a Vendor Coupon for $4.99 taken off. Maybe they did take the $5 off. I’m confused.

NO, my receipt is weird like that, too. It’s really hard to understand. That $4.99 is not the $5 coupon. It’s apparently some store promo. I don’t get it. I need to go back & look at my receipt for the hundredth time. The store manager explained it to me. I’ll try to relay exactly what he said once I stare at it some more.

My receipt was really weird today too. I didn’t get to use the $5 off $25 because my total before any coupons was $15. Total after taxes I paid $5.68 and got the $10 gift card. Reserved BB, got Tinkerbell on BluRay and a free Tinkerbell watch. Don’t know what’s up with their system, but I won’t complain :)

Crystal September 21, 2010 at 7:19 pm

BTW, when you all go in to get BB, reserve Toy Story 3 and $10 will be taken off of BB!!! I’m sure we’ll get a Toy Story 3 coupon to come out.

I saw that. Hoping for an awesome TS3 coupon!

Whatever. I’m not even gonna try that after spending my entire lunch break hashing it out with customer service, then not being able to ring up my $10 coupon with the $10 off from BB. AND telling me that I couldn’t use the $5 off $25 (even though I showed it to her last week and she told me I could). My receipt totally doesn’t make sense. She ended up charging me $14.51 and then refunding me $10 for the value of the coupon that wouldn’t work. Crazy. If I came in there and tried that with another movie, I think she’d shoot me. (And I wasn’t the only one trying this in their store today…so I don’t think they’re gonna be particularly pleased when we all come back for BB in a couple of weeks!!)

For those who payed over $10 take your receipt back and show them where you payed $10 to reserve Tinker Bell and they will give you $5 something back! My receipt was weird too and I asked them to explain it to me. The lady was very nice about it and showed me the different promos and coupons and then showed the $4.99 under balance due and told me that was my $5 I prepaid. She was very suprised when I told her I had payed $10 to reserve it and looked at my other receipt and them quickly refunded my money! She said their must be a problem with the system.

Thank you Heather!!!! You are so awesome for sharing this! I’m going to copy this to my FB page because we have several people with this situation.

Thanks! I will be heading back. I couldn’t figure out the $4.99 part. The manager said it must have been a store promo.

Courtney September 21, 2010 at 9:13 pm

Thank you! I needed to pick up a copy for my mom too, but I forgot to take her coupons, so I will be going back. I’ll see if they can explain it to me and see if they do it the same way when they do hers.

I went in yesterday…fought with customer service for about 40 minutes and finally left with the movie, watch (free), reserve B&B, and a small filler item because she told me the computer wouldn’t let her give me the $10 gift card if my total was under $10. I didn’t even try the $5/25!! So I ended up paying $5 for B&B and getting something on clearance for $5. I felt that I shouldn’t have a $10 total to get the gift card but at least the filler item was something I was considering beforehand so it wasn’t a total waste. My complaint was that the manager totally understood what I was wanting but “the computer doesn’t want to do it”. Oh well…I told her I’d be back in two weeks and then again for TS3!! (:

I paid $11.55 to reserve Beauty & The Beast, get Tinkerbell 3, and get the watch. I’m annoyed that I didn’t get it for the $5, but $11.55 for a Blu-ray combo pack and a watch isn’t too shabby.

Monica September 22, 2010 at 11:38 pm

I also paid $11.55 to reserve Beauty & The Beast, I got the Tinkerbell movie & I got the watch and I got the watch. I was OK with that because I thought it was all a good deal, except the bottom line is that TRU is committing fraud by not giving the customer the full $10 off with the coupon (instead of the $4.99 off that the majority of people seem to be getting). They only take $4.99 off then turn around & submit a $10 coupon to Buena Vista Entertainment for reimbursement….that’s just not right. That started to get me ticked off, so I called the store & gave the Manager an EARFUL. I’m going back tomorrow to get $5.00 back.
Oh, also, I just got the Tinkerbelle charm bracelet ($2.85 for shipping) and a free Tinkerbelle Mini Storybook for 0 points (http://www.disneymovierewards.go.com/rewards/tb-digital-book). Sweet!

I had the same problem as everyone else. I did go right back and they did a filler item and returned it for me (as in they knew about the problem and were doing this to correct it). I am going to attempt the TS3 but I will be buying a filler item. It’s my daughters Bday in November. The manager and cashier were at least human THIS time (the first one I had was pretty rude) and said I shouldn’t HAVE to buy a filler because their system is not able to comprehend that we are buying another movie.

I had the same problem with having to pay $10 and change if they added the giftcard to my transaction. The store was closing so he just rang it w/o the giftcard and I went back the next morning and the customer service lady gave me a giftcard no problem. I was kind of annoyed that my deal wasn’t working, but at least they were nice about it and didn’t act ugly because I was using coupons. The extra trip was worth getting my giftcard which I will be using to buy TS3!

Today’s story…
1) The $10 off Tinkerbell movie coupon can not be used with other offers. (Well mine took & didn’t say that on it. I plan on printing out another.)

then….

2) The g.c. really isn’t free. The $10 I paid is for the g.c. (I wanted to laugh at that.)

He has yet to explain the $4.99. So I am just going to deal with corporate now.

I went in today to reserve B&B and pick up Tinkerbell. I bought 3 Mr. Potatoheads as filler items (Buy 2 get 1 free +$2.00 off coupons). Well it turns out I didn’t need any filers b/c they wouldn’t accept the Tinkerbell $10 off coupon! They said they are no longer accepting any internet coupons!

Heather September 25, 2010 at 10:24 pm

So is that their policy from now on? I was counting on being able to use that for BATB and hopefully TS3.

Reply

Jennifer September 26, 2010 at 9:49 am

I doubt it. My store didn’t tell me that. Plus they would lose a lot of business with every other store taking these coupons. Everyone would go to Target, Walmart, CVS or where ever else to make these purchases.

Reply

Erin September 29, 2010 at 10:54 am

Yes, that is their policy now. I got an e-mail from corporate and people on the TRU Facebook page are saying the same thing. I was hoping to get the BATB deal too. Now I’m probably not even going to pick up the copy I reserved because I don’t want to spend $25 on a movie we already have.

Here is the e-mail I got:

Thank you for your contacting the “R” Us Family. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with our coupon policy. We will gladly accept manufacture coupons, however we will follow the exclusions on the manufacture coupon, and coupons cannot be combined with any other offer. We will only accept internet coupons from our own websites.

Sincerely,

So no Disney coupons even though their ad advertising that? I don’t buy it. She seems to be the main person fielding the TB emails.

Reply

erin October 6, 2010 at 9:30 pm

Yes, and she refuses to answer why they are advertising the coupon than not taking it.

Reply

Crystal October 6, 2010 at 9:48 pm

My store took the coupon no problem today. But you better believe I was ready with an argument and with corporate’s number if they didn’t take the coupon. They can’t put it in their ad and then refuse customers.

i went today to pick up my B&TB and because its an hr away i called the store yesterday to find out exactly what they would do and the lady told me on the phone to go get the B&TB Disney coupon and that she used it herself to buy one at her store and told me about all the coupons and discounts that will be/would be made. she was very helpful!
