One of the best ways to save money and, yes, live green is to not be “stuck in your ways,” so to speak. Don’t be afraid to go into that little outlet store to look for organic groceries, or try that new type of food you think sounds bizarre. If it’s cheaper and healthier to make some of your own foods from scratch at home, then do it. If there is a chance that you could change your life drastically with something that makes you cringe just thinking about, what not give it a try?
You can’t be loyal to a store, brand or way of thinking if you really want to change your life. It will be easier to go green, try new things, make your own natural cleaners and save money if you aren’t loyal to the particular habits of most consumers.
What are some of the unique things you do that changed your life to live more green while saving money?

My biggest change in the house is using more natural cleaners…like baking soda instead of comet and bathtub cleaner. And heading to the Farmer’s Market each weekend for organic produce.
Know that my kids, especially my daughter with Asthma, are healthier is a huge weight off my shoulders
Love it Melissa!
I’ve been making “super porridge” for my 6-month-old from the Super Baby Food book. So easy and cheap! I’ve just been grinding organic brown rice but will venture to adding other grains, legumes, etc. I also make some basic homemade baby food recipes and need to do more of this. It saves money but is also better for my daughter, too.
Yum! Love this.
Cloth Diapers!!!! Yes it is possible!! I have grown to hate regular diapers verses the cloth…the disposable ones stink and are not as cute. Everyone laughed and said it wouldn’t last but she is 6 months old and still in cloth! I am planning on writing a blog post about cloth diapers because not many people seem to know how easy it is now!!
I’m a big fan myself. I CD’d both of my kids. Are you on DiaperSwappers? That is my favorite cloth diapering community.
