We’ve mentioned ideas for using fabric and magazines to wrap gifts, but some of us still use paper rolls of beautifully printed gift wrap.  If you have gift paper left but not enough to keep for another occasion consider using those scraps to cover your books.  It will brighten up your bookshelf and extend the life of your beloved printed treasures.  All books aren’t digital yet, right?

This is the first year we’ve had to cover books for school, and we found that used gift bags also work wonderfully… We had some bags with pretty prints but broken handles, and used them to cover books – they are so thick that they are still going strong despite the rigors of elementary school kids…
