Each week on Wednesday, I spotlight a website that I think is worthy, and give you a little review of it.
In the spotlight for July 29, 2009 is Wii Mommies.
First off, I’d like to say that this site is not just for people who have a Wii Fit. It has great recipes, tips and awesome giveaways as well. Secondly, I want to introduce this site by first talking about my Wii Fit that I got just a few days ago. So far, I have spent two days with the Wii Fit. While I woke up a little sore this morning, I’m not as sore as I usually am when I do high impact work outs. I must say, that Wii Fit is quite fun. I get to play games and compete against my husband, all while working out. If you are skeptical and think that this thing couldn’t possibly get you much of a work out, check out this post HERE from Momspective. She lost sixty pounds just working out with the Wii Fit.
So, continuing on with the Wii Mommies website, I must say that I am really excited to find a community of Moms working out and trying to live healthier lives. Not only do they share healthy recipes and wonderful life tips, but they also have a great thing called Fitness Friday. If you have a blog, then you can post your progress and link to it on their Fitness Friday post. I think this is a great way to keep each other motivated to get healthier and fit. Wii Mommies also has a radio show that airs on Fridays. I just loved browsing through the inspiring stories on this site, as they definitely help to motivate me.
If you are considering getting a Wii Fit, I’d encourage you to make the plunge. While the initial cost may not be something you want to do, I think it would be well worth it. The initial cost versus costs you would pay for a gym membership make it well worth the investment. Or, you can do like I did and save up your swagbucks to get one for FREE!
So check out Wii Mommies, tell me what you think, and look forward to a few Fitness Friday posts from me here and there.
And the moment you have all been waiting for:
My BMI: 25.31 (Overweight)
My Weight: 151
My Wii Fit Age: 31
My Real Age: 27
Let’s see how well I can do with this Wii Fit. Wish me luck!

When you purchased your Wii were you able to just stack gift card after gift card from Swagbucks? That’s a lot of codes for $5 increments.

I have been “blog buddies” with Jenn of Wii Mommies for almost a year now. And I just met all 3 of the Wii Mommies founders at BlogHer’09. They are just as sweet in person! This is a great site/forum that they have. And they do fun events, too! We all raced each other on Mario Kart last month!
Glad you liked the site, too, Crystal! Good luck on your journey!
