My Weekend Shopping Trips: Target and CVS

in Deals, Drug Stores

I went out to Target Saturday night, because I was worried that the Kashi sale would be over come Sunday.  I received some incredible coupons that afternoon from a reader, and I just had to make sure to use them before they expired and the deal was over.

8 Artisan Loafs .99 Used $1/1 Target coupons HERE to make them FREE!

Thank you so much Lisa for the coupons!  Hope that baby comes soon!

And Sunday afternoon I hopped on over to CVS.  To my delight, summer items were 75% OFF!  It’s not as good as when it goes 90% off, but everything is usually gone by then anyway.  I got women’s flip flops for .75 cents a pair, socks for $1.49 a bag,  and here’s the best deal:

This five piece set (stainless “steal” by the way) was clearanced down to $32.49!!  Original price was $129.99.

With ECBs and coupons my total spent at CVS (including the patio set) was $36.04, with a savings of $303.69!!

Grocery/Household Costs: 0.00   Savings:$37.02

Obviously, the money I spent on toys, socks, shoes and the patio set won’t be calculated into my grocery spending.

I don’t know if all CVS stores have gone to 75% off on the summer items, but you all should definitely keep your eyes pealed.

I am so excited!! I have those coupons for the Kashi and Kashi pizza! My Alblies manager gave me a handful of them when they took down their Kashi supply and I have been toting them around. I hope my Target carries them…if not, I will pass them along to those of you who have “super” Targets (so jealous!!)
Awesome shopping trip…looks like you might be making some bread pudding? french toast? bread soup?…lol!

I’m so glad you got them in time! I am making one more trip today. A little deal hunting is always fun, and maybe motivate this little girl to come see the world! I am hoping to get a few more of those pizzas b/c they are SO good!

I hope to find that awesome patio set deal. My DH accidentaly broke our table a few months ago, and we could use a new one.

Great trip, Crystal!

@Lou, I’m not sure where Lisa got the coupons. I think it was some kind of Special in-store promotion or event. Care to chime in Lisa?

@SheSaved , today we had Chicken philly with some of the bread. Believe it or not we’re half way through the bread already :) I may do some bread pudding if it doesn’t get used up for sandwiches.

The Kashi coupons were a trade from another mama on DS. She and I traded some Qs. She didn’t like Kashi, but somehow she ended up with lots and lots of Qs. I’ve had them for about 4 months waiting on a sale, finally got some great prices, but I don’t have that much room in my freezer! I decided to shre them instead of letting them expire (they expire 9/1/09). Sorry, ladies!!

I found maybe the same Kashi Qs at Winn-Dixie. I asked the vendor to bring the Qs back but she never did. They were tearpad Qs. In April I used the entrees $2Q for BOGO deal at Publix ($3.79/2) and ended up with overage. We took home 16 entrees. I served them to company for lunch, and everyone liked them! So I hope they’ll be on sale and we’ll get new coupons. they are the only super healthy frozen meals I’ve had that don’t taste like it came from the microwave.

Crystal, for the bread did you make several transactions or they let you use all in one. I’ve been told they can only accept one coupon per item per transaction.

Hey Martha, it was done all at once. Some stores are not allowing this while others are.

If you store isn’t letting you, then just ask them to split it all up into separate transactions.

I came across this patio set by chance at CVS this morning. It wasn’t marked down on clearance. After trying to get the staff to figure out what it was selling at they made me an offer of 50% off, I said no. She said she’s call another store and see what they were selling them at since she wasn’t sure if they were on clearance at all, well they were selling the at 90% off, so I got my for $13.92, minus 3ecbs = $10.92- whoo hoo, thanks for posting this or I would’ve never even been looking casually for it.
