Worth Reading: Why It Is Important to Visit Websites

For those of you that subscribe to blogs via Google Reader or Feedburner, Ginger from Attention Target Shoppers wrote a great post that I think you should all read HERE.

Here are my top reasons why I recommend visiting my site once in a while:

1. Information Can Quickly Become Outdated.
Deals can sometimes go quickly. If you subscribe in any way, sometimes you aren’t getting the information until 24 hours later. You could be missing out on important updates or on great freebies that go quickly. A recent example was the Photo Book Deal. Many of you worked on the Photo Book only to find that the deal had expired early. I had updated my post in order to inform all of you of this, yet you didn’t know.

2. You don’t get to see all of the comments
. I’ve had many people send me emails in response to their reading in Google Reader or Feedburner, in order to ask me questions. I’m a busy mama, and unfortunately I just don’t have the time to answer every single question that I get. Especially when some of these questions are answered by other readers in the comment sections. So please, if you have questions, consider posting them in the comment section or at least check the comment section in order to get some answers.

3. You miss out on the information in my side bars.
The right side of my site under “Jump To” is especially important each week. Under that section I link directly to the important posts of the week. That way it makes it easier for all of you to quickly go to the posts you are looking for. One more point here. Sometimes I do more than 7 posts in a day, and usually Feedburner only delivers the posts that are on the front page. Imagine missing out on a post or two every time you read.

4. You don’t get to see the personality of my blog. icon smile Worth Reading: Why It Is Important to Visit Websites Especially when I roll out the new look coming shortly.

I’m not saying anything against Feedburner or Google Reader. I love these options, because they are so easy! But I think it would be worthwhile for some of you to visit me more often. It would also be easier on all of you to get answers to your questions in the comment sections, and you would ensure that you are up-to-date on the latest freebies and deals!

And the same goes for all of the awesome blogs that you follow!

I was wondering if you have had any luck with your Photo Book yet? I ordered mine, it was confirmed, and my order still says ‘placed.’ I am waiting to hear back from customer service…have contacted them 2x’s. Thanks for posting that deal, by the way!BR/BR/meganannie18 @ hotmail.com

I hear what you are saying… however many sites, esp yours, take a looooong time to load if I don’t use my reader. So I use my reader to read them and then click on a page if I want to see the comments. Probably not what you wanted to hear :(

I totally agree with this post and had to come visit to say so!! I love, love, love getting your posts in my email. But sometimes there is a delay. Not always, but sometimes I get it the next day. So I generally pop in here on a daily basis, just in case!! lolBR/BR/I hate to miss out on anything!!

Anonymous – that is totally what I wanted to hear! I had no idea my site took so long to load. What kind of internet connection do you have? If you don’t mind my asking.

I agree. I hate readers. I like to see the “whole shebang” and set-up of a site. Old-school, I guess:).

Crystal, Anon here. My connection says my Signal Strength is Excellent and my Speed is 54.0 Mbps. I am using Firefox 3.0.5. When I load the site and look at the bottom of the browser the last thing to load is always the coupons. It says something like bc.coupons or downloads.coupon. But today it also said socialtwist or something like that. Does that help? Patti
