Are you joining The Thrifty Mama Book Club this month? I’d love to have you participate and read some of these fabulous books. Zondervan has graciously offered up a copy of Green Mama: The Guilt-Free Guide to Helping You and Your Kids Save the Planet as well as Spilt Milk, Devotions for Moms to five different winners! Zondervan sent me these books to read, and I have to say that it is so refreshing to read honest and down to earth green tips and devotions.

Spilt Milk: Devotions for Moms by Linda Vujnov. I need a devotional or inspiring book to get me through the day sometimes. This one specifically speaks towards Moms who are living with a hectic lifestyle. The stories are humorous, down-to-earth and just seem very “real” to me, which is sometimes what I find lacking in many devotional books.

Green Mama: The Guilt-Free Guide to Helping You and Your Kids Save the Planet by Tracey Bianchi. This is one of three different “green” books that I am in the middle of reading. I like this one a lot because it is from a Christian’s perspective, and she’s very “non-pushy.” My motto is always that you should do what you can (as far as eating healthy and being green), and let God handle the rest. I never want to push or bully anyone into thinking that they are wrong because they can’t do something I am able to do.

Jen H August 12, 2010 at 1:10 pm: I would LOVE the chance to read the Spilt Milk mom devotional book. As a mom to 3 kids under 3 (2 year old twins and a 1 month old) it’s so easy to get overwhelmed in this hectic life.

I’d also love the green book as we’re learning more ways everyday to lessen our impact on the environment, especially as a family of 5 and hopefully someday as a family of 7!
